This is awesome. I bought one straight away :)
Can I make one suggestion? You've made it fit a Memotech case which is great. However, it is nearly impossible to neatly cut a slot in the metal end plate (it's also a shame to hack a rare part!)
Now, every piece of ZX81 software known to man fits on even the smallest SD card, so why not recess the SD slot so the card sits within the case? Even if you do need to change the card content you only have to unscrew then end of the Memopak case.

Thanks!

This is already possible if you use a reduced size mmc card - they fit completely into the slot. I make a little tab from tape and attach this to the card so that it can be removed later.

Enjoy the board :)

Hi!

Thanks for the tip :) I have a SD micro adapter and a 128MB SD micro card. I was going to solder the micro adapter to the board and then I'll still be able to remove the card. I'll see if I can get a reduced MMC first though ;)

Enjoying the board :) Luckily I had one ZX81 with the ula 2c210e so I get a good picture with the composite mod.
